Extensive experience
The Tintometer Ltd was established
in 1885 by Joseph Lovibond, a Salisbury brewer who developed the Lovibond® Colour Scale. Since those early days the Lovibond® brand has become the hallmark for colour measurement
in processing industries, recognised by major international standardising
bodies, including the AOCS, ISO and ASTM, who quote our instruments
in their specifications for colour measurement. It is this unique experience
that allows Tintometer Ltd to guarantee a reliable and accurate colour
measuring service.
High level of skill
The success of The Colour Laboratory lies
in the experienced colorimetry technicians who use our master
instruments to obtain the colour data required.
Quality Assured
All samples are tested under the
control of our ISO 9001 Quality Management System. In addition, Tintometer
Ltd has been awarded UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accreditation
as a calibration laboratory for spectral response and CIE measurements.
As a result, we can supply colour measurement data that are directly
traceable to national standards.
The Colour Laboratory is available at the
following rates:
Sample measurement report
- First sample @ £70
- Additional samples @ £40 per sample
- UKAS Sample Calibration @ £150 per
sample
Conditions of Service
Customers will be responsible
for shipping the samples to Tintometer Ltd. Each sample will be identified
by an appropriate reference. The Customer is required to furnish all
safety information and MSDS sheets associated with the materials being
shipped. Tintometer Ltd may refuse acceptance of samples if they present
a risk to health, safety or the environment.
The Customer will specify the
methods for analysis for each sample, in particular any sample preparation
and the colour data required. Colour analysis and observations will
be conducted using the methodology specified. Tintometer Ltd will supply
the Customer with a Colour Laboratory report stating the instrument
used, colour values obtained by sample reference, measurement conditions
and observations.
Tintometer Ltd will retain samples
for a period of 30 days following the date of submission of the Colour
Laboratory report. Following the retention period, Tintometer Ltd will
dispose of unused non-hazardous samples at no additional charge. Hazardous
samples will be returned to the Customer at their expense.
All work undertaken by The Colour
Laboratory will be treated in the strictest confidence. Tintometer Ltd
will not disclose the Customer's confidential information except with
the prior permission of the Customer. The official language for any
communication with respect to the services offered by The Colour Laboratory
