Tintometer continues to grow: foundation stone for company expansion

Company 17.02.2023

The famous Lovibond® DPD reagents in tablet and powder form, the company chronicle, Tintometer's own newspaper, a foundation document and a daily newspaper now lie well sealed for posterity in the ground on the Tintometer site in Dortmund. CEO Maja C. Voss today sank the well-sealed time capsule for a large new building. This has already grown impressively high at the headquarters of the family-owned company in Dortmund.

With this, the Tintometer Group is making a sustainable investment in the future almost 140 years after the company was founded in England. The new building became possible through the purchase of a neighbouring company site. In terms of construction, Tintometer is thus closing a gap on the company premises in Dortmund-Aplerbeck, where Tintometer erected its first building in 1987. Over the years, with the company's unbroken success and growing demand, further buildings have been added - finally a complete logistics centre. In future, the new building will house additional storage, logistics and office space for the constantly growing workforce and product range.

This will strengthen the infrastructure of the company-group for the new global challenges. It will enable the company to react more flexibly to supply chains that have been severely affected worldwide by war, pandemics and global crises, as well as to increased energy and transport costs. Of course, the new building also implements the company's sustainability efforts with concepts for regenerative energy like a green roof, solar panels and charging points.

CEO Cay-Peter Voss founded the German branch of the company, which was then still situated in Salisbury, England, in Dortmund in 1967. He thus established the European sales market for pool testing devices. Tintometer was also involved in the development of the so-called DPD method, which has long been the standard for chlorine and hygiene control in swimming pools. With the development and production of its own test devices and reagents, an unparalleled wave of success began that continues until today. Dortmund has long since been the headquarters of the group of companies, and many other locations worldwide have been added, as well as new company buildings.
