Bromine
Bromine is widely used as a disinfectant in swimming pools and spa baths where it is more tolerant to hot water and aeration than Chlorine. The most popular form for supply is as the stable solid bromochlorodimethylhydantoin.
Active Bromine consists of Free and Combined Bromine, and is usually measured using DPD No1 Tablets. To measure Combined Bromine separately, an additional DPD Nitrite Tablet is required.
